Maintenance Technician — Nights

Nu-Tek BioSciences is looking for a reliable Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team at our 55,000 sq. ft. greenfield plant in Austin, MN. This non-exempt, hourly position will report to the Maintenance Manager and will assist with all maintenance responsibilities including but not limited to, performing preventative maintenance on processing equipment and plant supporting equipment, diagnosing necessary repairs, and repairing equipment and items in the facility. This position will work directly with the Maintenance Manager and plant leadership to support these functions to ensure compliance with company objectives, quality systems, and safety codes. A successful candidate must be dedicated to ensuring the Company’s facility is well-cared for and have a genuine interest in helping the company succeed.

Because the plant is a greenfield operation, this individual hired will be expected to assist with startup and acceptance testing to take place in July 2022.

Pay Range
$24-36/hour plus a $1.25 shift differential

Responsibilities

  • Assists Maintenance Manager with all plant maintenance operations, ensuring that plant premises and equipment are kept in a safe and clean condition
  • Assists in building a maintenance program that optimizes the plant’s uptime, considers costs, and satisfies all industry regulations and OSHA guidelines
  • Complete PMs. Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild equipment and document the work done without direct supervision
  • Monitor equipment and ensure it is kept in good working order. Work closely with management to repair or replace equipment as needed
  • Assist outside contractors with repairing and installing machinery
  • Able to apply general plumbing and HVAC skills to maintain equipment and facility
  • Support activities that help the plant obtain and maintain its ISO 9000 and SQF certifications
  • Complies with company policies and procedures at all times
  • Maintains a neat and clean working area throughout the day
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED required; additional trade certifications and training preferred
  • 4+ years of experience as an industrial maintenance mechanic
  • Experience with compressed air, steam generation, HVAC, and cooling systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with all stakeholders and discern when escalating issues to leadership is appropriate
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and computer technology
  • Ability to thrive in an ever-changing startup environment
  • Committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety
  • Willing to relocate within 45 miles of our plant in Austin, MN (this is not a remote position)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with separation, filtration, evaporation, and spray drying equipment
  • Skilled in welding and fabrication including plasma cutting, oxygen acetylene torch cutting, and ban saw cutting
  • Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Able to read and understand blueprints and diagrams used in diagnosing mechanical problems without direct supervision

Physical Demands

This positions physical demand is medium work. This position will require the individual to lift up to 50 lbs. This position will require the individual to be able to stand, sit, kneel, walk, bend, squat, twist, and climb ladders and stairs with moderate frequency.

Production Operators — All Shifts

Nu-Tek BioSciences is looking for reliable, experienced Production Operators to perform manufacturing functions at our 55,000 sq. ft. greenfield plant in Austin, MN. This non-exempt, hourly position will report to Production Management. These positions will work directly with peers and all management to ensure compliance with company objectives, quality systems, and safety codes. A successful candidate must be dedicated to ensuring the Company’s facility is well-cared for and have a genuine interest in helping the company succeed.

Because the plant is a greenfield operation, a strong emphasis on teamwork, training, and attention to details in equipment operation will be imperative. The individuals hired will be expected to assist and be trained with startup and acceptance testing to take place in July 2022.

Pay Range
$20-28/hour plus a $1.25 shift differential

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership for production equipment operations, ensuring that production processing areas and equipment are kept in a safe and clean condition.
  • Responsible for clear, accurate, and timely recording of run conditions, run parameters, in-process test results, and all other required documentation associated with equipment operations.
  • Monitor equipment and ensure it is kept in good working order. Work closely with management to communicate any equipment issues or concerns as needed.
  • Support activities that help the plant obtain and maintain its ISO 9000 and SQF certifications.
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are followed at all times.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; with experience in food manufacturing preferred.
  • Understanding of separation, filtration, evaporation, and spray drying equipment and/or demonstrates the ability to gain understanding of these systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with all plant team members.
  • Must be reliable and have a history of reliability and good attendance.
  • Must be able to clearly and accurately record equipment run parameters and testing results performed in production.
  • Strong attention to detail with troubleshooting operational issues.
  • Ability to thrive in an ever-changing startup environment.

Quality Assurance Technician

Nu-Tek BioSciences is looking for reliable Quality Assurance Technician to test raw material, intermediate material, and finished goods at our 55,000 sq. ft. greenfield plant in Austin, MN. This non-exempt, hourly position will report to Quality Assurance Manager and work closely with production personnel to ensure processes are functioning as they should, and the material is meeting various specifications.

Because the plant is a greenfield operation, a strong emphasis on teamwork and attention to detail will be imperative. The individual hired will be expected to assist and be trained with startup and acceptance testing to take place in July 2022.

Pay Range
$20-28/hour

Responsibilities

  • Work as a team member under the Quality Assurance Manager
  • Prepare finished material samples for internal testing and external testing
  • Manage sample retains
  • Perform Critical Control Point (CCP) verification
  • Ensure there is quality testing all the time (raw, intermediate, and finished materials); carry out inspections so as to meet the standard set by the organization
  • Help encourage and enforce cleanliness on the part of the staff and ensure safe working conditions
  • Help with investigations and corrective actions in order to make sure that products meet required specifications
  • Help with various quality trainings of team members
  • Help maintain documentation and records for the purpose of auditing
  • Work with the Quality Assurance Manager to ensure calibrations are completed and up to date
  • Work with the Quality Assurance Manager and other plant management to completed internal audits in a professional manner
  • Develop COAs of finished materials for Quality Assurance Manager to approve
  • Work with the management and production managers to ensure that only quality products are produced
  • Help ensure that no expired raw material is used for production
  • Help to check and update quality control policies

Required Qualifications

  • Proficient skills in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)

Administrative & Logistics Coordinator

Nu-Tek BioSciences is looking for a reliable, experienced Administrative & Logistics Coordinator to assist the management team with a wide range of administrative duties including logistics and inventory coordination at our 55,000 sq. ft. greenfield plant in Austin, MN. This non-exempt, hourly position will report to the Plant Manager and assist with general administrative tasks related to all departments in the plant. This professional multitasker will assist the coordination of these functions to ensure compliance with company objectives, quality systems, and safety codes. A successful candidate must be dedicated to ensuring the Company’s facility is well-cared for and have a genuine interest in helping the company succeed.

Because the plant is a greenfield operation, a strong emphasis on teamwork, training, and a hands-on approach to all tasks be imperative.

Pay Range

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Plant Leadership team in a wide range of administrative duties that help support the overall functions of the plant.
  • Coordination of all shipping and receiving activities including document creation.
  • Assists in tracking and maintaining accuracy with product related inventory.
  • Assists Human Resources with administrative tasks.
  • Support activities that help the plant obtain and maintain its ISO 9000 and SQF certifications.
  • Follows company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; experience with administrative responsibilities.
  • 3+ years of administrative experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with all stakeholders and discern when escalating issues to leadership is appropriate.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Can demonstrate the ability to learn additional plant and company supporting software programs.
  • Ability to thrive in an ever-changing startup environment.
